CABIN on the Armstrongs', from England to Illinois USA, then to Rockvale CO. In 1867 they followed Oak Creek into the mountains homesteading 160 ac. Land where Native Americans still lived, land full of wildlife, tall mountains all around and vast expanses of virgin evergreen forest. They built a small log cabin and worked the land. Over time many ranches came to be in that region and farming and cattle flourished. Then came the Depression of the late 1920's. Many lost their land. They couldn't pay the taxes. Armstrong Ranch bought places around them. Some say the Ranch grew to13,000 acres. 1960's the land men came, bought the Ranch, made many home sites and sold them all. This Cabin was built on a 5.17 acre home site just a short distance from the historic Old Armstrong Homestead. Solar power, a good well and modern sewer system are in. 2 bdrs, 1 bath, a cozy Kitchen/Living area and a large laundry/utility area are enclosed in this log sided Mountain Cabin in the forest. Rich in blessings.
